Phase One of The Crossings, part of the Adamstown Station masterplan, has reached completion, marking a significant milestone for Ireland’s first SDZ with the opening of the first new town centre constructed in Ireland since the 1960’s.

Adamstown is located 15 kilometres west of Dublin city centre adjacent to Adamstown station. With Quintain Ireland, Henry J Lyons has delivered a new town centre [The Crossings] with 279 new homes. The objective for this area of higher connectivity and density is to create a social and commercial centre, made up of a mix of uses that are all centred on a network of landscaped streets and a civic square, Adamstown Square. The first phase also includes a central commercial block by the train station known as The Railyards which will help define the area as a destination.

The second and third phases will expand the town centre with three more residential blocks to the west and one residential block to the east, The Sidings. These blocks will act as a landmark to define the new Town Centre where it meets the bordering educational area. The second phase will add 180 more homes which are under construction and for delivery in spring 2024, while the third phase, which will commence in early 2024, will provide another 440 homes.

The official opening will be hosted by Quintain on the 23rd of September.

The first phase includes a central commercial block by the train station known as The Railyards which will help define the area as a destination.

Great Southern Way links the station to the new Adamstown Square and is flanked by the commercial centre. Two floors of car parking above are clad with perforated metal panels each with a folded surface and backlit at night with LED fixtures. Two courtyard blocks to the west known as The Junction and The Platform include a mix of housing typologies.

Living units were designed to introduce variety, including open plan apartments, corner units, duplex units, corridor access and own door units, located over 20 Ground Floor Mixed Use Retail. Typically four to nine storey plots are arranged around a private internal courtyard - all lower to the South for light penetration and with visual permeability to surrounding streets. Four storey blocks to the south and west include duplex units whereas to the north the higher block of apartments reaches 9 storeys for its entrance and stairway.
