Wilton Quarter

Creating a socially vibrant civic quarter and an economically viable highly sustainable development.

Due for completion 2023, IPUT are developing a new city quarter in Dublin’s south. Wilton Park will be a place for workers and residents to enjoy and combine a unique blend of cafes, leisure facilities, restaurants, retail units and a newly laid out civic park. IPUT and Henry J Lyons are working with the wider team to ensure that Wilton Park will be a timeless and excellent addition to this area of Dublin.

The new Wilton Park precinct will support approximately 3,500-4,000 office workers. Designed to reflect its prestigious environment and the rich heritage of the surrounding area, the proposals will create a new public square, a re-formatted park together with new restaurants, cafes and leisure facilities for the local community, new connections and superb new modern well-lit open office spaces with generous roof terraces. It will form a new landmark recreational, retail and office quarter in the heart of Dublin’s business and cultural life.

The regenerated park together with the canal and canal banks, provide a unique amenity in the heart of Dublin 2. The southerly aspect of the park will be complemented by an elegant lawn surrounded by mature trees that offers both the general public, and immediate occupiers around the park, a peaceful space removed from the bustle of the city. Extensive active uses have been provided for at pedestrian level around the public square, catering for occupiers and visitors. The new development actively engages and encourages users from a wider area to use the new facilities being provided.

The facilities provided activate and animate. Streetscapes have been carefully considered, in terms of the massing, functionality, entrances, activities and materiality. The proposals provide for significant new permeability and connections, not just between Lad Lane and Wilton Park, but also from the park to the pedestrianised canal routes and footbridges.

Quality of design and attention to detail is reflected in the elegance of the facades. The rich mixture of stone, bronze finishes and large formatted glass panels combine to create a unique space that will inspire. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer views of the park and canal and flood the interior with natural light.
