Barry Kirwan - Sector Lead (Data Centres)
Barry is Sector Lead – Data Centers at Henry J Lyons With over 25 years industry experience across multiple sectors including Hi-Tech, Pharma, Education, Retail, Residential, Commercial, Leisure, Logistics. Barry has been working directly with the Data Centre / Technology clients since 2014. During this time, he has developed in-depth knowledge across all project stages from initial site suitability assessments through to on-time Project handover into Operations.
His Data Center Experience extends across many of our client groupings including Amazon, Edge Connex, Microsoft, Google, Greenscale and Winthrop Technologies. He has delivered projects within both traditional Client direct and Design and Build contracts
Barry is committed to advancing the technical delivery of our projects including the integration of sustainability throughout the design and delivery stages with a particular emphasis on low embodied carbon design solutions, material efficiency, and integrated workflows together with adoption of modular construction and prefabrication to minimise waste and enhance efficiency.
Since joining Henry J Lyons in 2019, Barry has worked on numerous multi-site Data Center and Pharma projects, playing an instrumental role in coordinating, and overseeing the successful on time delivery of multiple mission critical facilities including both DC and associated Energy supply buildings.
Barry qualified as an Architectural Technologist member of the RIAI in 2013. In addition, he holds a master's in Construction Informatics (Construction ICT &BIM) from Technology University Dublin (formerly Dublin Institute of Technology) and has also previously completed a Level 9 Post graduate CPD certificate at TUD on residential retrofit towards near zero energy building performance. Prior to Henry J Lyons, he worked with several small and medium sized Dublin based practices including Ryan+Lamb Architects, Kavanagh Tuite Architects, Newenham Mulligan & Associates & Crean Salley Architects.
