Hostelworld International Headquarters
The design creates a youthful and vibrant environment which enables collaborative and autonomous working.
Hostelworld relocated from its existing headquarters to Dublin in response to the company’s growth and requirement for appropriate accommodation.
The fit out of Hostelworld’s 2,325m² international headquarters in Dublin unifies the company’s workstreams and staff through the provision of suitable and contemporary work and breakout spaces. The design creates a youthful and vibrant environment which enables collaborative and autonomous work to take place in a largely open plan environment.
Breakout and informal spaces contribute to the Hostelworld brand.
Hostelworld required that the headquarters embody the brand and its core campaign slogan, “Meet the World”. The use of graphics and the way the space was shaped was integral to meeting this requirement.
The spaces at top and bottom of the atrium have great visual impact which is achieved through graphics and detailing. Ceilings are omitted and services are exposed. A significant portion of the budget was allocated to joinery elements and furniture. The location of thess breakout and informal spaces contribute to the Hostelworld brand. They are the spaces where staff meet and socialise and are highly visible to visitors.
